Many of us grew up watching the many late night poker television shows on the television, giving some of us our first experience of the game before learning it ourselves and discovering the beauty that is within poker.
These shows had the biggest names in poker taking part from such as Tom “Durrrr” Dwan, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Laak and Antonio Esfandiari. They played for high stakes and really showed the world what real poker skill was all about.
Unfortunately, the majority of those shows died out for a number of reasons, but with the live coverage of big events like the EPT, WPT and WSOP, poker has again entered our homes and again increased desire to see big names playing against each other.
Poker Night In America is a new televised poker series being brought to CBS in America, allowing fans to not only enjoy high quality poker action but also a look behind the scenes with some of the biggest names in the business.
Well in the past few weeks, the show has been made available to those that may not have access to the American CBS television channel. Poker is a global game loved by players from many countries the world over, so Poker Night in America does not want us all to miss out on what the Americans are getting to see on a regular basis.
PokerNight.com has uploaded the first couple of episodes that include many well known professional poker players such as Mike “The Mouth” Matusow, Gavin Smith, Shaun Deeb, Phil Laak, Kirsty Arnett, Will Failla, Matt Glantz and David Williams. These players will be competing throughout the series for both money and bragging rights and will no doubt play to the very best of their capabilities.
What this show does differently from the rest is that there is more emphasis on both fun and getting to know the players a little bit better. It is not just poker, poker, poker but equally about the characters that are taking part. You get to learn about the background of the players, the success they have had throughout their poker careers and their personalities at the tables.
The first episode is the pilot for the series and spends the majority of the time letting viewers get acquainted with the players that will be taking part throughout the series. It follows them as they first meet up to take part in the show and to the show itself.
Episode two on the other hand is where the poker really starts to get going. There is fun, banter and laughs as well as some top notch poker to keep all fans of the game happy.
Each of the episodes is a little more than 20 minutes long, so get comfortable, grab a drink and some some food, sit back and enjoy the latest poker show to hit the screens.
We will provide any new videos as and when they are uploaded, so please come by and check on a regular basis if you do not have direct access to Poker Night in America.
