PokerStars ANZPT Sydney Day 1a/1b Roundup

Since the end of the PokerStars EPT London, we have a few days break with no real poker action going on with regards to tournaments. Well luckily, to stop the boredom setting in, the PokerStars ANZPT Sydney has just got underway on the other side of the world.
We have now had Day 1a and Day 1b completed during the last couple of days with 206 players showing up for Day 1a and 254 showing up for the just completed Day 1b of the event today.

That means a total of 460 had put themselves up for the challenge of taking home a good score in this event.
This means we now know that the prize pool for the event is $920,000 with the top 54 players to be going home with a payment of at least $3,680 or if they win it will be $226,320.
The leader from Day 1a ended up being Gary Benson after he built up a stack of 193,000 chips, though he was bettered on Day 1b when Ashley Mason secured 253,800 to become the chip leader going into Day 2 tomorrow.
