EPT Deauville High Roller – Jacobsen On Top For Extra Day

Though this event was always scheduled to be all done and dusted yesterday, the officials have had to stretch it into another day due there still being six players left. As you would expect, the players have been fighting tooth and nail to stay in the event, meaning that the original plan of 21 levels was not enough to see the event finish up in time.

The re-buy period into this event finished as Day 2 started, with there being two more registrations added to the 51 players that made it through Day 1. That developed a prize pool of €905,400, with the top prize of €313,000 being put aside for the winner.

It was Martin Jacobsen who was the player leading the field by the time the event was officially put into another day, with him holding 1,299,000. It is by no means a massive lead though with Vojtech Ruzicka and Alexandre Reard all within touching distance on 1,051,000 and 943,000 respectively.

Players That Were Set To The Rail!

With any High Roller event, you can be sure that the only players taking part would be the higher end of the professional poker market. That also means that the players being eliminated would be of the highest calibre too. Yesterday we saw names like Jonathan Duhamel, Kevin MacPhee, Davidi Kitai and Vicky Coren all being sent to the rail.

The players left standing will now be facing blinds of 10,000/20,000 when they resume, meaning that it should be a quick conclusion. It could also be practically anyone’s title too, with none of the players pulling sufficiently away from the field.

It’s a tough one to pick, but we think it is going to be some encounter with chips flying everywhere. Martin Jacobsen has the slight advantage, but does he have what it takes to keep pushing on and not doubling anybody up?
