The action at the PokerStars European Poker Tour Deauville Main Event is really starting to heat up now, as Day 4 saw just 23 players of the 51 do enough to see them make it into Day 5 and edge ever closer to that illustrious final table.

It was Cyril Andre who found himself the chip leader come the end of the day, with his 2,108,000 chips just eclipsing that of the 1,997,000 held by Remi Castaignon in second place.

The day moved along quickly with it actually only lasting just under five hours before the required number of eliminations had been met. In fact we lost 14 players during the first level alone as we saw names like Jason Koon, Lonel Anton and Thomas Butzhammer heading for the exit signs.

We also lost the player that had come into Day 4 as the chip leader, with Shahaf Hadaya suffering a number of big losses throughout the day before being eliminated in 32nd place after running his pocket kings into the pocket aces of Gordon Huntly.

Andre’s Rise To The Top!

Andre only managed to secure his place at the top of the leader board after eliminating Lucien Cohen late on in the day. He managed to flop a set and then saw it improve to become a full house to see his opponent go home in 28th.

Other players to go on Day 4 included Brit Sam Grafton, Massimo Di Cicco and James Bills. Grafton was actually the last elimination of the day as he fell in 24th for a payout of €23,000.
