PokerStars EPT San Remo Side Events Roundup

The PokerStars European Poker Tour San Remo has been in its second and final week, with the Main Event of course the main attraction. However, there has also been a lot of quality action in a whole host of side events at the series. Many of those side events have also been won by some big and familiar names.

One such event was the €5,300 High Roller event which managed to attract 75 big names that created a decent prize pool of €378,300. It was the Canadian Poker Pro Marc-Andre Ladouceur who took down the title after coming back from being 4-1 down in chips during heads up against Alex Roumeliotis. That victory and payout of €132,400 gave him his third score of over €100k in a row.

He previously finished 13th in the WSOP Main Event and took $465,159, whilst he then came second in the European Poker Tour Barcelona Heads Up Championship for a score of €101,000.

Another story during the EPT San Remo was that of Sam Trickett’s best friend Chris Sly finally getting the chance to experience some of the limelight rather than Trickett. They have been best friends for 15 years since their school days, yet it has been Trickett who has become the superstar having won over $17 million throughout his poker career.

This time though Chris Sly won Event 10 Pot Limit Omaha Turbo Eight Handed Double Chance, he beat a field of 75 players to take home €51,000. Trickett was actually on the rail in support of his friend and they would definitely have had a big celebration afterwards.

Whilst Ladouceur and Sly were the biggest names and biggest winners of the side events, there were plenty of other names that took down some big scores at the tournament. Here is a little look at some of the results:
