Poker action resumes in the United Kingdom with the highly anticipated PokerStars Live event hosted in 2014 by the Hippodrome Casino. Poker professionals and amateurs have plenty of reasons to make London their first destination in 2014, with the tournament set to begin on the 5th January.
Time is quickly running out for those who plan on starting the new year on a high note, as the PokerStars Live series starts on Sunday and concludes on Wednesday night. The organizers have announced the details of the upcoming tournament schedule and players will get to choose between four major events.
Those who book a seat at the Hippodrome Casino and suffer an untimely elimination in any of the tournaments, will have plenty of opportunities to offset the loss at the numerous cash game tables. Those who participate in the Tuesdays’ Pot Limit Omaha tournament for instance, will be able to play at PLO Cash game tables without paying rake for two hours.
Hippodrome Casino plans on organizing similar events throughout the year but January is special because there are no registration fees for the £100+£10 events. Those who participate in tournaments scheduled for weekdays start with 10,000 chips and the blinds increase every 20 min., while the Sunday event features 20,000 starting stacks and a 30 minute clock.

The PokerStars Live event at the Hippodrome Casino might be the first to announce the schedule for 2014, but there are plenty of other major series that return next year, including the £250+£25 UKIPT. Those who are anxiously waiting for the British Poker Awards should know that the event will be hosted in Leicester Square. It is scheduled for March 3, 2014 and players can still cast their votes here.
