Last night at the PokerStars Macau Poker Cup, Event 4 was played out and completed with the eventual winner of the 158 field event being Tetsuya Tsuchikawa. He won HKD $101,400 of the HKD $400k plus prize pool, which has now propelled him right to the top of the all time earners list from Japan.
The HKD $3,000 No Limit Holdem Turbo event paid out 19 players in total, with the event being completed within just one day. By winning this event Tsuchikawa secured his second major title and became Japans most successful tournament player of all time, jumping above Hirotoshi Nakabo.
The Final Table!
Once we got down to the last ten players, there were in fact a couple of PokerStars Team Pros still in the mix with both Vivian Im and Fu Man Tin in with a chance of the title. It wasn’t to be for them both though as they were actually two of the first players to be shown the door.
Tin was first to go out in 9th, whilst Im quickly followed him through the door in 8th place. The player that was eliminated just before them was Chih Hsin Hsiao for a payout of $10,202.
With seven players left it took a little while before we saw anyone else depart, though when it did happen the unfortunate player was the Japanese Pro Yuri Ishida for a healthy payout of HKD $18,600. That seemed to open the flood gates as we then saw three players eliminated on the spin, with the first of them being Yoichi Fujiya. On the very next hand we saw Fan Cao follow Fujiya through the door and then directly after that we had Indian player Bharathan Balasubramanian hitting the rails for a 4th place finish and HKD $35,200 payout.
This left us with just three to go, though eventual winner Tsuchikawa had already by this point built up a healthy lead. That lead never waned and in fact grew as he eliminated Polish pro Dawid Mysiewicz, meaning that he now just had to beat Morgan Lee heads up.
He put his opponent to the sword in quick fashion, with the final hand seeing Lee push all-in whilst holding the Kh-8h. Tsuchikawa made the call whilst holding the Ah-4c and actually made a full house when the board came down as 7s-2c-Ac-4s-As.
