We are now just a matter of weeks away from the Season 11 European Poker Tour opener in Barcelona and more importantly that 100th EPT Main Event. We already expected that there would be a number of celebrations going on to mark the occasion and the first has already been announced by PokerStars.
To celebrate the achievement of seeing ten seasons completed on the EPT and 100 Main Events, PokerStars are offering a promotion that all qualifiers to the Main Event can take part in.
Those that have done well enough to qualify for a seat in the Barcelona Main Event through satellites at PokerStars will be able to take part in a freeroll tournament on the 17th of August that could see them teamed up with a PokerStars Team Pro to take part in challenges known as ‘EPT100 Barcelona Takedown’.
It will be the top five that finish in that freeroll that will be put together with a Team Pro on the 21st of August, with each team tasked with dashing across Barcelona to collect much needed points for a tournament at the end of the day.
The dash will include using jet skis and taking part in scavenger hunts, awarding points that will help them in the tournament. The best three finishers in that tournament will walk away with buy-ins for additional events at the EPT Barcelona.
1st Place will be given a free seat in the €2,000 + €200 Deepstack eight handed event, 2nd will earn a €1,000 + €100 Turbo seat and 3rd will get free entry into the €500 + €50 NLHE Deepstack.
The whole experience sounds like it will be highly memorable for those that manage to take part, not just because of the chance at winning some buy-ins but being able to spend some time with some highly successful PokerStars Team Pros too.
Not Finish Top 5?
Well there are still a selection of prizes that you can aim for as PokerStars are also holding the #EPT100Brag competition. This event could see you win prizes from the VIP and even an iPad mini.
To take part, all you have to do is qualify for the Main Event in Barcelona, collect a special patch from the event organisers and take a picture of you and the patch and upload them to either Twitter or Instagram.
Of course, you should try to be a bit creative as it will down to three PokerStars Team Pros to decide which pictures deserve rewarding. A simple selfie is unlikely to get you very far, so think outside of the box to get the attention of the Team Pros.
The European Poker Tour Barcelona Main Event will be kicking off on the 21st of August though the whole EPT experience will have been running since the 16th with side events and the partnering Estrellas Poker Tour. We will be covering the bigger events for both tours and providing you with regular updates on everything happening over in Barcelona.
