PokerStars Sunday Tourneys

Calvin Anderson added yet another scoop to his online achievements yesterday by winning the PokerStars Sunday Warmup Event. This achievement can now be added to his two SCOOP titles and one WCOOP which were both won on PokerStars, now only if he could nail that Sunday Million and he would be close to getting the set.

The online game took a little bit of a hit yesterday as many attentions were at the EPT Event which was being held in Barcelona, with some big events getting underway, Dan Smith had already won The High Roller 50k Event there.

Though it had a slight effect on the numbers, it still didn’t manage to stop thousands of players from across the world competing for the Sunday Millions from their very own homes. Then there was also the Sunday Warm-up which as we already know Calvin “cal42688” Anderson took down.

The Sunday Million

As is the norm, this was the top dog of all online poker tournaments, with a field of 5,747 which is a bit of a drop from usual due to the EPT event. The prize pool guarantee was still broken though to give us a prize pool of $1.1 million.

As many of the PokerStar Team Pros were taking part over in Spain, we were limited in numbers for those; however Maxim Lykov did manage to have enough free time to take part. He eventually went out in 622nd and won $367.

After nine hours of play we were finally at the final table, the leader being Fish4trips with a huge 13 million chips. He had a very dominant and aggressive opponent though in Manitouwadge who dominated the final table and was actually the first player to break 20 million chips.

It did in fact come down to both of those players in heads up, with Fish4trips having just a slight lead over his opponent. He managed to hold it out though and beat his opponent with a two pair of 6-7 to crush the A-J of Manitouwadge.

Here are the final standings:

Fish4trips – $178,159

Manitouwadge – $132,181

Stealy7 – $93,101

Katalo269 – $64,538

Bandano – $48,274

Gosuoposum1 – $36,780

AlexaUKR – $25,286

Adrianofcrj – $14,367

Nsinger – $8,965

The Sunday Warm Up

We already know the winner so we will not spend too much time here, however Calvin Anderson was not the only well known player taking part in this tournament. We had Darren Elias who is a Canadian poker professional and he actually made it into heads up with Anderson before being beaten.

He took home $62,610 for his trouble which will go nicely with the $43k he recently made at the WSOP in Vegas.

cal42688 – $83,835

Darrenelias – $62,610

Flopped6810 – $44,570

Fengikareh – $31,034

PUAboy – $23,081

Xplogo – $17,775

TapeWormJim – $12,469

OpenShip27 – $7,693

Jackal69 – $4,510

That was how the Sunday Warm Up final standings looked.
