PokerStars Top 5 – Sweating in PCA Moments

We have once again come back with one of the ‘Top 5’ videos found over on the PokerStars channel on YouTube and this time it is all about the Top 5 Sweats from the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.

We have shared a number of these ‘Top 5’ videos over the weeks, with them generally concentrating on the Top 5 Moments for individual players. We have seen the likes of Phil Hellmuth, Liv Boeree, Daniel Negreanu and Tony G so far and there will be many more coming up in future weeks.

It is easy to know what a player should be doing when you can see both their hole cards and their opponents but you can see just how difficult some of the spots these guys are in doing in these particular hands, as you do not have the benefit of knowing what their opponents are holding.

There were five sweats chosen from the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure to make it into this video and it featured some big names players like Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, Shaun Deeb, Chris Moneymaker, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier and Faraz Jaka. Each of them had a sweat that gave a variety of results.

The Blom clip seems to be from when his identity was first revealed after becoming an online sensation over at Full Tilt Poker after beating regular players like Tom Dwan and Patrik Antonius and was subsequently signed up as a PokerStars Team Pro. He has not made too many live appearances since then but as you know, he still regularly plays online at some of the highest stakes available.

Some of the sweats are pretty intense, as are some of the attempted plays. The Moneymaker shove in particular was a great play and a good read from him on his opponent.

The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure is usually known for hosting the largest fields on the European Poker Tour but as you can see from our coverage of the EPT Barcelona Main Event this week, this might not be the case this time around. It is the 100th EPT Main Event that is going to be reached though, so it is pretty understandable.

You can follow all of that action with us, with Day 4 coming up in our report tomorrow. So make sure you do not miss it and come to get yourself updated on all of the EPT100 action.
