Schemion Returns To Top Of GPI 300

The Global Poker Index has once again released its updated rankings on both the current top 300 tournament players and the race for their player of the year. The GPI uses its own formula of ranking players on their performances in qualifying tournaments over a three year period for the GPI 300 and the current year for the Player of the Year race. Ole Schemion once again moves to the top of the GPI 300 after another good performance recently in the EPT Sanremo High Roller in which he won. PokerStars Team Pro stays second whilst fellow PokerStars Team Pro Daniel Negreanu fell 11 places to number 12.

1st) Ole Schemion – 3997.60

2nd) Vanessa Selbst – 3598.53

3rd) Marvin Rettenmaier – 3545.94

4th) Jason Mercier – 3315.17

5th) Mike McDonald – 3310.86

6th) Dan Smith – 3271.06

7th) Mukul Pahuja – 3181.30

8th) Joe Serock – 3176.26

9th) Paul Volpe – 3159.36

10th) Shannon Shorr – 3132.83

There were 19 new additions to the top 300 which meant that 19 also dropped out. The player that entered the top 300 in the highest position was that of Justin Young who entered in 204th place and he was joined in the rankings by the likes of Jake Cody and Roberto Romanello.

As far as the biggest gain and biggest drop seen this week it was Jorma Nuutinen climbing 127 places to 170th and Timothy Adams dropping 93 places that claimed those honours.

With regards to the current player of the year race at the Global Poker Index, the player at the top has not changed and Keven Stammen is still looking in good shape for the title. There is still a long way to go however so he will have to keep his consistency up for the rest of the year.
