Day 1b at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open was concluded not too long ago and it brought about another intense day at the felt. There were 690 that took part in this flight bringing the total for the $10 million guaranteed event up to 1,324 so far, with 417 still alive in the tournament. This means that if they can attract a similar amount for the final opening day flight a little later on today, they will manage to cover that guarantee and possibly have some money left over.
The player that topped the chip counts on the second opening day flight was Marc Davis. He built up a stack of 211,600 which puts him around 80k clear of Dan Shak who is ran well and finished up in second place. Other notables in the top ten include Matt Stout, Griffin Benger and Bryan Leskowitz.

There were plenty that didn’t join the approximate amount of 220 survivors though as Phil Ivey, Jason Mercier and the usually consistent David Sands. With regards to Mercier, it isn’t looking too promising a start at adding a new trophy for his new trophy case just yet.
Busted a few more times today. Probably need to finish ~30th to profit on the trip. Could also win the 100k. It’s nice to have options. — David Doc Sands (@Doc_Sands) August 24, 2013
