Ace, King and chips

After five busy days at the felt, the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Main Event came to an end yesterday with the in-from Dan Colman walking away with another title to his name.

He bagged $1,446,710 after coming out on top of the final table of six on Day 5 and eventually beating Mike Leah heads up for the title. This title has come literally a month after he won $15 million in the WSOP Big One For One Drop, meaning he seems to be the man to beat on the live circuit at the moment.

Day 5 began with the last remaining six players and Mike Leah holding the chip lead with 15,455,000. Colman started with the second largest stack on 10,230,000 and it seemed likely that the winner would come from these two.

The first to go on Day 5 was ,i who had lead this event on a couple of occasions, he took home $324,269. Next to go was Joe Kuether, with the renowned player scooping a payout of $424,044 before he was followed out of the door by John Dolan who had a nice payday of $548,763.

This left us with the final three but not for too long as Shawn Cunix had to make do with a 3rd place finish and a $748,313 sweetener.

Once heads-up between Colman and Leah began , both players had fairly equal chip stacks but Colman started the brightest and secured a huge pot when he managed to hit a full house on the river. Not too long after that it was all over when Colman and Leah put their chips in the middle holding the Ah-Kd and Qc-Jc respectively.

Colmans’ hand held and he now had another title to add to his ever growing poker reputation. His rise to the top has been nothing short of sensational on the live scene after initially being known as one of the very best online poker players not so long ago.
