On the same day that the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open reached its final table, the World Poker Tour Alpha8 Super High Roller was completed and won by Steve Silverman who took home a score of $891,660 for his troubles.
The day started with nine of the original twenty one entrants, with five of them having to go home empty handed.
Silverman will be extremely proud of his performance as he was almost eliminated during the bubble period and was down to just eight big blinds. He managed to not only get through the bubble, but run well enough to go on and win the event.
Had 8bbs on stone bubble with no other shorties, but ran it up in true @BigTimeZuggles fashion and scooped the alpha 8 for 890k! sweet!

2nd is disappointing but I can’t complain. I did get really lucky in couple spots. Congrats to Steve Silverman! I’m saving my win for Nov! — JC TRAN (@jctran23) August 28, 2013
The five players that did not have enough about them to make it into the top four to claim their share of the prize pool were Bill Perkins, Joseph Cheong, Isaac Haxton, Daniel Alaei and Jason Mercier. They will now all no doubt have their sights set on the upcoming European Poker Tour Barcelona that starts in a few days.
That wasnt my favorite sequence of hands. Busted 8th after being 1/9… AA<ATs aipf for 65 bb pot vs JC tran was the highlight #justbadluck
