Just when you think January cannot get any busier for poker action, the action is about to erupt. This is because today sees one of the biggest poker events in the world in the Aussie Millions starting up, the hugely popular PokerStars online series the TCOOP and for us Brits we have the UKIPT Edinburgh due to start.
We have already seen the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure just come to an end recently and the Full Tilt Poker MiniFTOPS finishing up this Sunday, however we are not going to be getting bored that is for sure.
The Aussie Millions!
This series is going to see a total of 26 live events taking place at the Crown Poker Room in Melbourne, Australia, with the first of them starting today. Event 1will be a $1,100 NLHE starting at 6.15pm local time that will include three flights of Day 1, it will also be a re-buy event meaning that players who are eliminated on Day 1a have the option of buying back in Day 1b or Day 1c if they like.
The big event though is of course the Main Event, which will be starting on Sunday the 27th, with the buy-in being $10,600 and will also include three opening day flights.
The PokerStars Turbo Championship Of Online Poker is returning for its second outing, with there being fifty brain numbingly quick events. Last year’s series proved to be extremely popular amongst players, with the series surely the quickest way to make big money playing online poker.
There will be four events staged today with the first kicking off at 12pm local time and being a $750k guaranteed event. The two events of most note will be the $700 NLHE Main Event starting on the 27th of January and the $2,100 buy-in High Roller the very same day.
PokerStars UKIPT Edinburgh!
For those of you that prefer live poker yet do not fancy the long commute across to Australia, there is nothing to worry about as the PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour Edinburgh Main Event is also starting out today.
It will be a £700+£70 affair that has two flights for Day 1 with the first of them kicking off at 12pm GMT today, and the second at the same time tomorrow. There is also a wide range of side events to keep everybody busy too, so if you can get there, we suggest that you do.
We will try and keep you all up to date as much as possible on each of these events, bringing you reports on as much of the action as our little fingers can produce.
