Yesterday again saw some high tempo action on the high stakes tables found at PokerStars, with the attention mainly concentrating at the top of the yearly profit and also right at the bottom. Viktor “Isildur1” Blom is a huge fans favourite on the high stakes tables yet this year has certainly been one to forget.
Yesterday continued that trend with a player that has had a storming year being the biggest benefactor to his downfall. Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky has been at the top of the profit lists almost all year round and is in fact the only player to have ever taken more than $500k from Blom in one session.
Yesterday was again Sulsky’s day as he made another profit to the tune of $344k, whilst playing at the $200/400 Pot Limit Omaha tables.
Blom Starts Out Well!
“Isildur1” started in his usual way, making a great start at building his stack. He had also started the day with a bit of an advantage due to playing through and past midnight the previous night and built a decent stack which counted towards today’s total.
As has been the case all year, that wasn’t to last. As he returned to the virtual felt in the morning for another bash, he actually sat at four separate full FLO8 high stakes tables against the likes of “joiso”, “Ville_Wahlbeck”, Harrington10”, “Theo_J”, “Sauce123”, “Bernard-bb” and “patpatman”to name just a few.
Initially he absolutely crushed them as he stormed to a profit of over $400k, literally taking everybody to the cleaners apart from “patpatman” and the enigmatic “MUSTAFABET”, who had decent games themselves.
He eventually built up to $700k in profit, and then came the key decision that has been his mistake all year long. He decided to try his hand at the nosebleed $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha tables. He was very unlucky this time though we have to admit, he had awful luck and within absolutely no time at all he had dropped $300k.
It didn’t stop there and rather than give up, he carried on and eventually lost almost everything he had won. He actually finished up in profit of around $100k, yet knowing Blom, he won’t be happy about that.
Others who turned a profit yesterday included “VietRussian” who banked $232.4k, “barcode” who profited to the tune of $181.7k and Sam “Tr1ck7” Trickett who took down $148.5k for his days work.
With so many players having a good day at the felt, it stands to reason that there will be some who didn’t. Phil “MrSweets28” Galfond lost $261k, whilst “BRAZZMONKEY” also dropped a considerable amount in $211k.
