It seems like we are writing about Viktor “Isildur1” Blom on a daily basis, but you can surely not blame us simply due to his absolute dominance on the high stakes tables so far in 2013. Yesterday he in fact secured his biggest single days profit since the re-launch of Full Tilt Poker, with profits of $1,356,296.
Simply put, Blom was absolutely faultless yesterday, not putting a single foot wrong and coming away from every session he played in as the winner.
He has sessions on a variety of variations too, taking in games at the Fixed Limit Omaha Hi/Lo, Pot Limit Omaha and the 2-7 Triple Draw tables. During these sessions he wasn’t playing nearly men either, he took a combined million from two of the most successful online poker players of all time in Phil Galfond and Ben Sulsky.
Blom Vs Galfond!
This encounter immediately had the online railbirds heading towards the Pot Limit Omaha tables that they were playing at, as both “Isildur1” and “OMGClayAiken” were playing heads up at two tables. They only played for around an hour; however that was more than enough for Blom to take $317k from his good friend Phil Galfond.
That was not it for the day though as the pair clashed again later on, though this time at the 2-7 Triple Draw tables. This session was just thirty minutes long and saw Blom yet again walk away with a profit, this time $132k.
Blom then went on to take a quick $40k from “Cottonseed1” before taking another break. Most of us thought that would be the last w saw of him last night, especially as his winnings had meant that he had won more than $3 million since the start of January. We couldn’t have been more wrong and were in fact in for a treat.
Blom Vs Sulsky!
Ben Sulsky was the highest earning high stakes player in 2012 and many of us have been waiting for this encounter to happen. It finally did as the pair went heads up across three Pot Limit Omaha tables with the stakes set at $400/$800. Sulsky though had picked the wrong time to tangle with Blom, the man is on fire at the moment and he ended up stripping “Sauce123” of a massive $743k in little under two hours at the tables.
Even after that session Blom wanted more, and got it as he took $89.2k from “Alexonmoon” from another 90 minute session on the triple draw tables.
All of this has now meant that Blom has earned more in 8 days than “Sauce123” did all year on the highstakes tables. His total now stands at $4.1 million profit since the turn of the New Year. We do know however that with Blom it can easily tip the other way, so whether this can continue is a disputed matter.
