The Latest Team PokerStars Pro – Jake Cody

sat3

Just before Day 1b of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event last night, the newest member of Team PokerStars was announced to the field, with the lucky player being British pro Jake Cody. The announcement was made by one of the longest serving Team Pros and world poker icon Daniel Negreanu.

Jake Cody is a worthy choice too, with the player being the youngest ever triple crown winner. Winning a triple crown involves winning an event on each of the three biggest poker tours in the world. He won the EPT Dueville and WPT London back in 2010 and then a WSOP bracelet in the Heads Up Championship in 2011.

He is still only 24 years old, yet he has already nailed down live tournament earnings of $3,156,032. This has all led to the biggest internet PokerStars to snap him up as one of their respected Team Pros, with Negreanu adding that a certain demeanor is expected amongst all of its Team pros, with Cody having that in abundance.

After announcing to the field the signing of Cody, Negreanu then slapped the highly sought after Team PokerStars Pro patch onto the arm of his fellow ambassador.

Cody’s Ambitions!

Cody is the first to admit that 2012 was not his best year, however he wasn’t playing as many live tournaments as usual and when he did the luck was simply not with him. He says that he wants to put last year behind him and is determined to be a huge success this year. Signing up with PokerStars he says has given him even more inspiration to make it big in 2013.

He is taking part in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event and then the $25k High Roller which is starting this Saturday coming, with him wanting at the very least some deep runs in both.

We personally feel that PokerStars have made the right choice for their latest Team Pro, though with him being British, we may be being slightly biased. Either way, he is certainly one of the best up and coming players in the game, with him still being so young there is so much more that he can achieve in his poker career, and with the backing of the best online poker site, he now has a much better chance of achieving it.

We will let you know just how he fares at the PCA this year as soon as we know ourselves. So be sure to regular have a look at our reports to find out just how the new PokerStars Team Pro is getting on.
