The PCA Super High Roller Underway Tomorrow

fri2

The wait is almost over as the tenth PokerStars Caribbean Adventure is kicking off tomorrow, with the first event being the highly anticipated $100k Super High Roller. If there was any way to kick off the poker season in 2013 in style, a high profile event like this is the way to do it.

Let’s face it; we are now done with this festive break and what some poker action to keep us all entertained.

What’s more, is that this event is going to have unlimited re-buys, meaning the prize pool is almost certain to be huge. That is especially the case when you think of the caliber of players that are going to be taking part this year. The winner last year was Viktor Blom, with this event being his first major live title, as he normally prefers to play online but proved that he could be just as effective on the live felt as well.

As far as we know right now, there have been 30 players registered so far which is already on a par with the event last year, however we expect a few more to turn up on the day and play. Of those names that are getting prepared for action, there is Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Isaac Haxton, Eugene Katchalov, Jason Mercier, Bertrand Grospellier and John Juanda.

There are not many bigger names than those in world poker. We are also expecting more names of the same caliber; perhaps Viktor Blom will be there in an attempt to defend his title from last year.

High roller events don’t only attract the biggest poker names in the world either, they have become fashionable for businessmen who like to play poker on a part time basis, so do not be surprised to see a few of them taking their chances in this event too. One such businessman is Bill Perkins, who will be taking his seat in this event, looking to take home a nice big juicy score.

We have been licking our lips in anticipation for this event, the Main Event and of course all of the other tournaments due to start this month. We will be bringing updates on each of them, so we cannot wait to get started, and to see which players are going to be starting 2013 with a bang.

So check with us all throughout this month to be inundated with updates on each of the big events taking place, if there is poker action happening, we will have a report on it.
