It’s that time of the week again where we bring you each and all of the biggest shakers with regards to the high stakes online games. A lot of the players have been out playing live events recently such as the EPT Barcelona Event; however the PokerStars high stakes tables have still been full of intense action this week.
There were a good few swings in fortunes of around the 500k mark in fact, with Phil Galfond again having a particularly successful week online. That makes it two very good weeks in a row for the specialist online grinder, having banked $471k just last week he has followed it up with another $463k this week. Just short of $1million for two weeks work…not bad at all.
Following up just behind him in the winning stakes was Ilari Sahamies, who has literally managed to be in two places at the same time. He is still going strong in the EPT Barcelona Main Event and is in fact into the last 24; however, he has still managed to find some time to put in enough time online to win $439, 934.
Other winners for the week include Ben Sulsky who took a very healthy $351,792 and “Madmags4” was a little shy of that with $315,075 for the week.
As we mentioned a few days ago, Viktor Blom had a massive loss online. He finished as this week’s biggest loser after dropping a massive $563,796 in just one marathon session of 18 hours. Thankfully the money he made the week before that ate up most of the losses; however he is still down around 100k for the past fortnight.
Gus Hansen also had a bad week, by losing $407,057 whilst also getting knocked out sooner than he would have hoped in the EPT Barcelona yesterday. Other players who struggled were “Gozoboro”, who managed to drop $341,195 and Alex Millar who forfeited $233,964.
Whilst we know who the biggest winners and losers are of the week, we thought it is about time we looked at the overall stats for the whole year so far.
The Biggest Winners Of The Year:
Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky (+$2,540,390)
Phil “MrSweets28” Galfond (+$1,963,404)
Jens “Jeans89” Kyllönen (+$1,628,538)
Alex “Kanu7” Millar (+$1,117,521)
The Biggest Losers Of The Year So Far:
Viktor “Isildur1” Blom (-$1,668,395)
Benny “toweliestar” Spindler (-$1,142,696)
Gavin “gavz101” Cochrane (-$643,202)
Every body in poker knows full well that a good or bad run can significantly change these positions, though it is looking like a very difficult year so far for the losers. We are sure that they can turn things around though and perhaps get back into profit before the end of the year.
