Three Players Alleged Victims Of Theft At WSOP

Thief opens the door

It has been reported that three players have had thefts from their hotel rooms at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino.

The first two were Lauri Pesonen and Joni Jouhkimainen, with the two Finnish players staying in the same hotel room during the series. Both reported through tweets on Twitter that they had their laptops stolen along with some other small items such as sunglasses.

Another player was that of Mengh Nguyen who was hit harder after allegedly losing cash totaling $35k from his room that he was sharing with fellow player Jimmy Chen. They had apparently booked into his room at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino on the 27th of May and went straight out to eat some dinner.

When they returned at about midnight $35k from one of his bags had been stolen. He claims he was fortunate to have stored the money in different locations, so he did not lose everything. He claims to have called the police who informed him that there are no security cameras in the hallways at the hotel and only in the elevators.
