Timoshenko And Jaffee Come Close In Super Tuesday

Tuesday sign

The PokerStars Super Tuesday returned once again last night as another huge field of players totalling 608 gathered at the virtual felt of PokerStars in order to battle it out for this week’s title. That number ensured that there was a prize pool of $608,000, more than enough to beat the guarantee of $350k.

The $1,050 buy-in event always attracts pokers biggest stars and this one was no different. This week though, not only was there some big names, but there were a number of them that actually forged very deep runs in the event.

There was Ana Marquez finishing in 18th place, Thayer Rasmussen in 16th and Charlie Combes and David Peters finishing in 12th and 11th respectively.

It doesn’t end there either as two arguably bigger names were found to make it all the way to the final table of 9. Both Yevgeniy Timoshenko and Jonathan Jaffee are experienced live players as well as online and they both found themselves with a good chance at winning this title. They would have been many people’s favourites too, but unfortunately they fell in 9th and 8th respectively.

Also on that final table was “AtlasC” who actually finished as runner up in this same event just last week. He would have been hoping to go one better this time around and actually gave himself an excellent chance by again getting down to heads up.

Both he and “Peacefulme07” decided to split the prize pool at this point as both had fairly even stacks. They split it right down the middle with $96,560 each and decided to play out for the remaining $6k. This ensured we did not have long until the winner was revealed and the chips were sent to the middle when “AtlasC” was holding the Ad-7d and “Peacefulme07” the Kd-10d.

“AtlasC” was now looking in great shape to win this event just one week after finishing as runner up but the board of 10s-6c-5h-10c09c meant that he would again have to settle for runner up.
