Two Leading European Casinos Adopt GPI Ranking System

Global Poker Index

The Global Poker Index has just revealed that following on from the immediate success with its partnership with the European Poker Tour, their rankings formula has now been adopted by two of the biggest casinos in Europe.

The EPT recently partnered with the GPI to use their system to rank players for their own Player of the Year award and now it seems that many casinos are looking to follow suit with regards to rankings and leaderboards at casino level.

The first two casinos to do so are that of the Aviation Club de France located in Paris and the Casino Barcelona over in Spain. It is expected that many more leading casinos will soon follow suit with the GPI determined to establish themselves even further as the Poker Ranking Authority.

Alexandre Dreyfus who is the CEO of the GPI had this to say on the matter:

“Having leading European poker rooms like the Aviation Club de France and Casino Barcelona joining our initiatives proves that we are continuing to make our mark in the poker world”, he went on “Our organisation continues to grow and we’re elated to know that we continue to reach a broader audience.

It is hard to imagine two better casinos adopting the GPI’s formula, with both responsible for hosting many major tournaments and tours each year. The European Poker Tour, World Poker Tour, Estrellas Poker Tour among others are regularly seen at both casino’s each year along with many other smaller local events.

The Global Poker Index has long established itself as the leading tournament poker player rankings authority, with their formula ranking players using a points based system that awards players for their results in tournaments over three years.

We now wait in anticipation of which casinos will be next to follow suit in bringing what we believe to be the best ranking formula currently available to their local players.
