The UK and Ireland poker scene is certainly thriving right now, within the last week we have had two big events finishing up whilst we already have another two to look forward to. The Dusk Till Dawn Deepstack event brought us two Main Events, the two most popular poker tours the UKIPT and GUKPT are facing up to each other with a Main Event apiece this week, whilst we also had a winner in the UKOPS Main Event.

It’s a lot of poker action to take in, so take a deep breath and read on…

Dusk Till Dawn Deepstacks – Mahmood Shines

The DTD provided a massive weekend just gone with there being more than just one reason to be there, they were holding not the usual single Main Event, but two at the same time. They had the £150+£18 Main Event which held a prizepool guarantee of £30,000 which attracted a large field of 218 registrants.

They also staged the higher staked £500+£60 Main Event that carried a massive guarantee of £100,000, this one attracted a good sized field of 172 players.

The winner of the £30k Main Event was Ramazanali Abbassi who managed to beat the large field and tough final table to scoop the first place payout of £7,694.63. The bigger event saw a DTD regular in the shape of bash Mahmood dominating his way through the field to claim one of his biggest payouts to date with a cheque for £26,299.

PokerStars UKIPT Today!

This week is looking good for all you poker purists out there; with the two biggest UK poker tours holding events during the same week.

The PokerStars UK and Ireland Poker Tour Bristol is underway as we speak and will run until the 11th of November. It is being hosted at the popular Gala Harbourside Casino with the Main Event being a £700+ £70 buy-in affair, which has led to a guaranteed prizepool of £250,000.

Alongside that event will be the UKIPT Online Final Table, with the survivors of the online event at PokerStars meeting up to play out until a winner is announced. Amongst the players is one of the bigger names in the UK poker industry, Chris Moorman…you wouldn’t bet against him winning here either.

GUKPT Main Event Starts Friday!

Just to add to the poker frenzy that is happening this week, with the GUKPT Blackpool Main Event being played out starting on the 9th of November. It will run for two days with the main event requiring a buy-in of £1000+ £70.

It is set to be a clash of the titans, though the bigger crowd is expected at the UKIPT. It has a serious backer in PokerStars which is sure to help pull the numbers in, though Blackpool is expecting a large turnout too with this stop usually attracting some of the higher numbers on its tour.
