UKIPT Edinburgh Day 1a – Louis Claims Early Lead

Leon Louis UKIPT

The UK & Ireland Poker Tour Edinburgh kicked off yesterday with the first of two opening day flights in Day 1a that took place last night with 116 players attempting to progress into Day 2.

The day finished with only 55 of those players remaining and Leon “Flippetyflop” Louis at the top of the chip counts with a stack of 122,700. That has him just edging it from Thomas Ward who is hot on his tail with 119,000.

He was not the only EPT winner in the field though as triple crown winner and Team PokerStars Pro Jake Cody also made an appearance on Day 1a. However, he could not quite do enough to advance into Day 2 and joined the likes of other big names in Max Silver, Jack Salter and Niall Farrell on the rail.

Day 1b is expected as usual to see a vastly increased field compared to that of Day 1a and it will be starting at 12pm GMT. Be sure to follow us as we follow this event daily until we have our very latest UKIPT Edinburgh champion.
