UKIPT Heading To Marbella

You might be forgiven for thinking that Marbella is not actually in the UK or Ireland which is of course true, yet that is not stopping the UK & Ireland Poker Tour from heading over there and putting on a sun filled poker tournament festival.

They have partnered up with the Spanish Estrellas Poker Tour to deliver a exciting poker festival between the 11th and 15th of June in the sublime climate usually associated with Marbella. There will be 13 events in total culminating in the €1,000 + €100 Main Event.

This event last year managed to attract a large field totaling 763 players and created a prize pool of €732,480. They will be looking to at least match that this year but in truth it is expected that those numbers will be beaten.

The event targets those that do not quite have the bankroll to head over to the WSOP this year, especially those in Europe. Both the UKIPT and Estrellas Poker Tours are smaller local tours that are suited to the up and coming players as they offer far more affordable events.

The festival is not just about the poker either as there will be a host of other things to keep players entertained such as plenty of parties and a World Cup football competition. The winner of the latter will win a seat at the Season starting EPT Barcelona Main Event this August.

PokerStars are also running a series of satellites for the events over in Marbella, meaning there is a good chance of players getting into the events at a far cheaper cost.
