Day 2 of the UK & Ireland Poker Tour London Main Event has now been completed and the field has again been whittled down to just the 35 fortunate players that have performed well enough to progress into Day 3 later tonight.
The day started with 209 players meaning there were plenty of action and even more eliminations that had to be seen through on Day 2.
Once the action had come to an end it was Daniel “Malibu” Stacey that had put himself into the best possible position going in to the next day’s worth of action. He built up a hefty stack of 1,400,000 and was the only player that managed to break the one million barrier.
Behind him in the top ten though are notable players Jack Salter and Paul Zimbler, so he is far from being odds on to win this event.
With so many eliminations occurring on the day, it was inevitable that some of them would be well known names on the poker circuit. Day 2 claimed the tournament lives of PokerStars Team Pros Vicky Coren, Liv Boeree, Barry Greenstein and Dimitar Dancev with only Coren making the money.
Grrrrr. Oh well, at least it didn’t happen ten minutes ago. £1810 is a whole lot better than nothing. Tomorrow: next case.

One big name that did make it through into Day 2 was Vladimir Geshkenbein, who sits with a healthy stack of 500,000 and just outside the top ten.
