The UK & Ireland Poker Tour Nottingham Main Event was completed as planned last night after the final table of eight played down until we had a winner. The player that received the accolade of being the title holder and the new owner of £202,372 was Duncan McLellan after he secured his second UKIPT triumph.
With this event being a record on the UKIPT with a total of 1,223 players many would have imagined the final table to take a fair why to be decided but another record on the tour was broken when it took just three hours and 49 minutes.
He came into the day third in chips he managed to increase them better than anyone else. This is despite coming very close to being eliminated within an hour at the table. He actually was responsible for six out of the seven eliminations on the table which just goes to show how much he dominated the table after that early scare.
His final elimination was when he was heads up against Angelo Milioto after the final hand saw his opponent have trips and him a straight. It was a cooler hand for his opponent but there is no doubt that McLellan thoroughly deserved the win after a dominant display.
