Vanessa Selbst has just announced that she will be getting married after she proposed to her girlfriend the night before her first ever appearance in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Super High Roller event.
Placing $100k on the line for a big poker event is certainly a big commitment for her, certainly the biggest she has ever made during her poker career, however it’s the commitment she is going to make in her personal life that she hopes will give her the luck in this event.
The PokerStars Team Pro was interviewed by PokerStars.tv presenter Sarah Grant, during Day 1 of the PCA Super High Roller event. She explained about how her tournament was going, with it actually going fairly well. During the interview she says that she was on about 455k in chips, however by the end of the day her total is actually $382k, which still has her above average.
She then went on to let us all know that she is now a taken woman, after she proposed to her girlfriend the night before. She claims she always had a plan to ask her girlfriend at this event, as her wife to be loves the Bahamas; however she planned to do it after the event. A late change of plan saw her ask her just before, in an attempt to get some extra luck for her first ever Super High Roller.

Selbst is one of the best poker players around, with her no nonsense aggressive style putting fear into anybody that she plays against. She is ranked number one in the GPI women’s rankings, whilst she is always hovering around the overall rankings top ten. We predict big things from her this year, with the PCA’s being her first shot at getting a title in 2013.
We would like to offer her our congratulations on her engagement, whilst we would of course like to wish her the best of luck in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $100k Super High Roller.
