WSOP Circuit River Rock Main Event Day 1c

The final flight of Day 1 is now over at the WSOP Circuit River Rock Main Event after we saw another 386 players taking to the felt. That brought a total of 1,032 entries into the event which has created a prize pool of $1,548,000. The winner will take the biggest share, a total of $286,382 with the remaining top 107 players sharing out the rest.

At the end of Day 1c we had just 100 players remaining, whilst the chip leader of the day is also now the chip leader of the event. Robbie Roscoe bagged up 332,000 chips which was a massive $100k more than his closest rival on the day.

This has put him ahead of both the chip leaders from the previous flights of Day 1, with Day 1b leader Jingjing Lieu with 266k, and chip leader from Day 1a Norman Overdijk completing the top three. Lillian Chen finishes up the top four going into Day 2 with 228,600.

Early On!

In the early stages of Day 1c it was Chen who was the chip leader as she had an excellent start to the event. In one big early pot Chen bet out with a raise before the flop, she was re-raised by an opponent so she raised even more and was then put all in by her opponent.

She decided to make the call despite claiming that this opponent was a “tight player”, it was a good call too as she held the Qd-Qc whilst her opponent was showing the Jh-Js. The board came down as 3d-Ah-8s-7h-4d and her hand had held out and she took the pot of around 45k.

Notables Going Into Day 2!

Amongst the other big names that will be making their way into the business end of the event, we have Roberto D’Amato, Justin Leeson, Ki Nam, Eric Truong and Calvin Anderson. There was however some big names that dropped out of the event too.

In fact some players have had three attempts at the event, buying in to all three of the opening day flights and being eliminated. These players included Matt Affleck, Flemming Lund, Gavin Smith, Robert Cheung and Jeff Blenkarn.

There will be 246 who will be hitting the rail later today when the action continues, with all of the players being reduced right down to just the 108 that will be paid. This means there will as usual be an unfortunate bubble boy or girl.
