This when the talk and hype stops and the quality card action starts, with there being a total of 65 tournaments, hundreds of cash tables and thousands of poker players looking to secure themselves the honour and prestige for winning a WSOP bracelet.

I’m so excited! And I just can’t hide it! One week away from the best time of year. Golfing and WSOP grinding. I declare 3 WSOP bracelets!

The WSOP is where dreams are made and broken, superstars are born and big stories are created. It is for this reason that you will not want to miss any of it.
Throughout those 6 weeks will be bringing you all the news on the many events and will do our very best to keep you more than on top of the proceedings. You can get a look at the full schedule of the events, where you will quickly notice that there are to be two events today.
The first of those is the traditional Casino Employees event, so no professionals are allowed as the men behind the scenes at the series have a chance for glory themselves. Also today is the first ‘real’ event in the $25k Mixed Max No Limit Hold’em event.
That event is a four day event that sees the action as 9 handed tables on Day 1, 6 Handed tables on Day 2, 4 handed tables on Day 3 and heads up on Day 5.
The WSOP believes that they could attract an additional 15k in players from what turned up last year. According to their yearly traditional media conference call about what to expect at the WSOP this year, the Executive Director of the WSOP, Ty Stewart claimed they expect to see a total of 70,000 players making the trip to Las Vegas this time around.
This would mean more than $200 million in prize money being handed out at the very least. That is without all of the cash game action that is going to be going on across 100 tables throughout the series.
Anticipation levels are high, so we are going to stop talking and wait for the action to begin!
