WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open Day 2 – Herz Slightly Ahead

Day 2 was played out not long ago at the World Poker Tour Borgata Winter Poker Open, with the remaining survivors from each of the flights of Day 1 converging together for the first time. In total there were 567 of them that had done enough to start the day, yet only 160 of them managed to do enough during Day 2 to see themselves still in the event for Day 3 tomorrow.

That means that we lost a total of 396 players to the rail in a frenetic days worth of action. It also means that 60 of them are still to go home empty handed, with the bubble set to be burst very soon, when there are just 100 players left.

The player that just edged it with regards to finishing the day at the top of the leader board, it was Scott Herz after he has amassed 519,300 chips so far. Literally just a couple of thousand behind him is Joe DiMartino with 517,100, whilst not too far behind him on 498,900 is Yung Hwang.

The top of the leader board is actually very stacked, meaning it is certainly going to be an interesting to see which of them can pull a lead out in front.

Big Names Still In The Mix!

With regards to some of the bigger names in the world of poker that are still involved in this event, we have Matt Glantz, Matthew Burnitz, Ana Marquez, Mathew Salsberg, Joe Serock, Allen Kessler, Jason Koon, Mohsin Charania and Ravi Raghavan still battling bravely.

Whilst that’s an impressive list of names, we lost an even more impressive list throughout the day. Out Went Kathy Liebert, Matt Affleck, Matt Gianetti, Mathew Waxman, Noah Schwartz, Tony Dunst, Will Failla, Victor Ramdin, David Baker, John Racener, Faraz Jaka, and Jeremy Ausmus.

Day 3 is all set to be continued at 12pm local time tomorrow, with those survivors all coming back to see the bubble burst at 100 players and to try and get themselves as high up the rankings for the business end of the event as possible.
