Day 5 at the World Poker Tour Five Diamond Poker Classic was finished last night as the 21 poker playing hopefuls returned to the felt in order to fight it out for a seat on the televised final table. Only six of them would be able to achieve that and once the day had been completed it was Dan Smith sitting at the top of the chip counts.
He amassed 3,720,000 chips throughout the day, though he will certainly know he still has some work to do just yet. He leads a tough looking final table that has Gary Benson, Joe Serock and Barry Hutter in it meaning the final day should give us plenty of high quality poker.
3.72 million going into the 6 handed final table!

It seems that everyone has been rooting for Jean-Robert Bellande to make the televised final table all week, yet he couldn’t quite manage it after busting out in tenth place for a payout of $52,079. He was joined on the rails by the likes of Will Failla, Dan O’Brien and Christian Harder throughout Day 5.

Just busted in 9th. AK < KK for 3 million. Almost folded. Feel pretty sick right now.
