WPT JasksonVille Main Event Day 1b – Racener Leading
Day 1b at the Jacksonville stop of the WPT is now in the bag, with the survivors joining forces with the remaining players from Day 1a to commence the event later today in Day 2. The chip leader from Day 1b was John Racener who has amassed 250,300 chips which puts him slightly ahead of closest rival Mark Rose with 245,300.
There were 263 players that registered for Day 1b with that making a total of 477 for the combined opening day flights. From those 263 there were just 96 who emerged from Day 1b, which means that there will be 155 players heading into Day 2 later today.
Though Racener ended Day 1b as the chip leader, he is not the overall chip leader going into Day 2. That honour goes to Tom Nguyen from Day 1a who has 295,800 chips in total. There are a number of players in the top ten that are still within touching distance of the leaders, meaning that Day 2 should see some changes at the top.
The Top Four Chip Counts From Day 1b:
John Racener – 250,300
Mark Rose – 245,300
George Sinishtaj – 205,200
Raj Vohra – 202,400
Notables Heading Into Day 2!
Amongst the big names going into Day 2 include many pros that were eliminated on Day 1a but re-bought into the event on Day 1b. We had Daniel Negreanu, Nick Grippo, Todd Terry, Lisa Hamilton, Brian Hastings, Matt Waxman and the ever aggressive Jonathan Little all making up for yesterday by doing enough to see Day 2 of the event.
Whilst we saw big names going through, we also lost a few too. Jason Mercier busted out again after re-buying after being eliminated as well on Day 1a. We also lost notables such as Faraz Jaka, David Diaz, Tony Dunst, Vinny Pahuja and Shawn Cunix.
When Day 2 starts, we will be in the eleventh level with the blinds set at 600/1200 with an ante of 200, meaning that the action is set to continue at the kind of pace we experienced on the two flights of Day 1. It will start at 12pm local time, where the players will have to navigate six 90 minute levels.
If you find yourself with the need to know exactly how the game went, you know exactly where to go. We will be following this event right through until completion, so come back tomorrow for a full report on Day 2 at the WPT Jacksonville Main Event.
