The World Poker Tour LA Poker Classic got underway yesterday with Day 1. The event brought in 501 players and eventually finished up with 370 of them doing enough to see themselves into Day 2.
Leading the chip counts currently is Scott Blackman who finished the day with 190,300 in total. There is a long way to go however and he has plenty of big name players chasing him down in the pack.
Among them are JC Tran, David Paredes, Chris Moorman, Antonio Esfandiari, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Galfond and Erik Seidel. A very tough bunch we are sure you will agree. Each of these players have more than enough to stake a challenge in this event and will be looking to increase their chances with another strong performance in Day 2 today.

There were plenty of casualties on the day too as Matt Salsberg, Matt Giannetti, Jonathan Aguiar, Joseph Cheong, Michael Mizrachi and Phil Laak were among the masses that were eliminated on the day.
