WPT LA Poker Classic Day 2 – Neff Running Well
The World Poker Tour LA Poker Classic has just witnessed Day 2 get played out, with another 27 players being added to the registrations after taking advantage of being able to buy-in before the day started. That meant that the total size of the field in this event was 517, though only 402 took part in Day 2 due their being 120 eliminations on Day 1.
That number was reduced further by the end of Day two as we only saw 164 get through the day and into Day 3.

The player that finished at the top of the chip rankings on Day 2 was Peter Neff as he bagged up a nice 284,700 chips. This put him just in front of a chasing pack that included some big names like Ryan Eriquezzo, Scott Seiver, Jeremy Ausmus, Eli Elezra and Brandon Cantu.
We lost a big number of players throughout the day, with some very notable names in amongst them all. We saw Matt Salsberg, Matt Giannetti, Mike Matusow, Kyle Julius, Phil Hellmuth, Ronnie Bardah, Brian Hastings and Allan Kessler all hitting the rail.
They will have to wait until the next WPT stop to attempt to get themselves a major poker title, as they and we already know that no poker player can win all of the time.
So come back tomorrow when we bring you the report on what happens on Day 3 of this popular World Poker Tour event, where we should start to learn which players are going to be the major forces in this event. With the top ten already quite closely matched, we expect the hip lead to change quite frequently as the day progresses.
