WPT LA Poker Classic Day 4 – Toby Lewis in Control

shutterstock_129375494We now have just two more days left of the World Poker Tour LA Poker Classic as Day 4 was played out just a little while ago. We had 63 players coming back to the felt with the sole ambition of making those final two tables for Day 5, which meant we had to lose 45 players throughout the day.

That final 18 was finally made, with British Pro Toby Lewis being the man to finish at the top of the pile. He had an excellent day at the felt and bagged up 1,816,000 in chips by the time the curtain had come down on Day 4. As things stands he is a little more than 200k ahead of Paul Klann in second place and a further 20k ahead of Paul Volpe sitting comfortably in third place.

Big Name Bustouts!

We had big names coming into the day and unfortunately big names leaving the day, with Phil Laak, Noah Schwartz, Carlos Mortensen, Scott Seiver and the ever popular Joe Hachem all hitting the rail.

Final Two Table Seating and Chip Count!

1 Blake Barousse – (954,000)

2 Benjamin Zamani – (1,380,000)

3 Michael Winnett – (300,000)

7 Jeremy Ausmus – (1,053,000)

8 Andrew Whitaker – (436,000)

9 Paul Volpe – (1,562,000)

These players will all now know that they will be walking away with $49,630 at the very least, though they will of course have their eyes on the first place payout of $1,004,950 and the honour of having a new WPT title etched on their poker C.V.

This means that we are going to have a winner that isn’t one of the more notable names in poker, yet that is only a good thing for the game.

The Remaining Payouts!

1st – $1,004,090

2nd – $651,170

3rd – $429,810

4th – $316,650

6th – $193,560

7th – $161,300

Check with us tomorrow as we let you in on what goes down on Day 5 of the event, as the final table of six will be met. Can British Pro Toby Lewis keep up his fine work so far in this event and make that final table? We might be biased but we are certainly hoping so.
