It has been more than four years since the last World Poker Tour event took place in the United Kingdom with that event being won by PokerStars Team Pro Jake Cody. That was the second major event on his way to becoming the youngest Triple Crown winner of all time.
Well, it has been a long time coming but the World Poker Tour is in fact returning to the UK this year. The Dusk Till Dawn club in Nottingham has managed to persuade the WPT to come and take part in what is set to be the DTD’s biggest poker festival of all-time.
The festival is set to be held in November and is set to go on for a full 17 days. The actual dates have not been officially revealed as of yet but it is rumoured to be on the 7th until the 23rd.
There is set to be a schedule packed full of events that will provide prize pool guarantees of $2 million in total. Though there is a packed schedule there are six events that will be attracting the most attractions. Thos will be the WPT Warm Up, WPT National, WPT High Roller, WPT Pot Limit Omaha, WPY 6-Max and of course the WPT Main Event.
Out of those six the two biggest are set to be the Main Event and the WPT National. The WPT National is hoping to attract more than 2,000 entries with its very affordable £500 buy-in in order to be able to bring in enough for the £1 million prize pool guarantee. The Main Event too will have a £1 million prize pool guarantee, though the cost for a buy-in into this one will set you back £3,000.
We will of course keep you updated on what to expect from this event and will provide a schedule as soon as we have access to one our selves.
One thing for sure is that it is going to be great seeing the WPT back in the UK and we are almost just as sure that it is going to be another roaring success.
