Yesterday saw the third event at the World Series of Poker Europe get underway as the €5,300 Mixed Max event brought in many big names among the 135 initial registrations. This number is set to increase though as registration is open right up until the start of Day 2.
This Mixed game format is becoming increasingly popular with some of the world’s top players, proven further by the number of big names that have entered.
We saw Phil Ivey and Phil Hellmuth both enter and progress into Day 2 along with Davidi Kitai, Brandon Cantu, David Benefield, Noah Schwartz and Jason Mercier. If Hellmuth continues to play well in this event, he could go on to score his 100th World Series of Poker cash throughout his career.
Ended with 52k. Now back to my room to watch Monday Night football and play @iveypoker app.

None of them are the chip leader though as that accolade falls to Matthew O’Donnell with 73,425 coming with him into Day 2. Also in the top ten with him are Jason Duval, Scott Clements, Chris Klodnicki and Tuan Le. They will now be aiming to establish themselves in the money on Day 2 and avoid being eliminated before the money bubble.

By the time the day had ended there were just 67 of those players remaining going into Day 2, with them all hoping to break through the bubble and earn themselves a cash and possibly a place on the final table.
The action kicks off again today with us providing another full report of the action tomorrow, so you know exactly where to come if you too are interested in the goings on at this year’s WSOPE.
